Bananas and Orange Juice

It is a tradition in the Knerr family to eat bananas and orange juice. I think my girls love it as much as I do!

Recipe:
*Cut bananas in slices
*Put sliced bananas in a bowl or a cup
*Pour Orange Juice on top
*Eat with a spoon (it is like eating cereal, only it's not)
*Enjoy.

Yum. COLD orange juice, no less. Did you know that "tradition" started when I worked at a financial firm in SLC? My supervisor did it, I tried it, and the rest is history. :)

I just told Dad "I'll bet YOU didn't know that was a tradition." He said "Nope, he didn't" Now he knows. ;)

I am trying to figure out what's so yuck and nasty about it. Bananas and orange juice are mixed all the time in smoothies and fruit leathers and candies, etc.

Nasty and yuck = eggs with ketchup, french fries dipped in chocolate milkshake, green olives on ice cream... those equal YUCK!

(Have you ever tried it?)
And apples and peanut butter are grand!!! Mmmmmm

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

i don't see how this could be yuck either, i think it sounds good. i bet my kids would love it, the same as cold cereal, but different. only the bananas don't get soggy.

I don't know what's yuck about it either--I use OJ & bananas in smoothies all the time, but I also use orange juice to flavor my fruit salads. Citrus. They're both fruit. Sounds good to me! I'll have to try it, and I KNOW my boys would love it!

Claire is such a pretty little girl--her big blue eyes are beautiful!

For the record:

I love bananas.
I love orange juice.
I love smoothies.
I have tried it.

Okay, I admit, maybe its not completely nasty, but having tried it I have to say I most likely won't be doing it again. Having my banana and orange juice separate tastes alot better! Why ruin a good thing?

btw Karen, I actually used to like dipping my french fries in a chocolate smoothie, and I dont mind a little ketchup on a scrambled egg/sausage/hash brown breakfast. Apples and peanut butter, sounds good to me too. Olives with ice cream? HECK NO RADIO, thats nasty!

Ok, so I've never really heard of anyone eating olives with ice cream...
