Livie's Latest

Well, we have been busy lately. We had a dinner party with Emma, Fransisco, and Lanette and Shaun. We ate dinner, played Balderdash, ate some blueberry pie, and watched a movie. We had a lot of fun. Fransisco has the best laugh, and was making us laugh all night. I'm happy Emma found Fransisco, because we love him too!

Today Olivia got a potty... I think she is CLUE-LESS what it is for. Her expression says it all ;) And for your viewing pleasure, I'm posting an older video. I can't get our camera working, so this video is about 3 months old... but whatever! My mom wanted one.. Livie video

Baby Birthing

So, awhile back I had talked to a girl that just had a baby.. I asked if she had an epidural, and she replied "No, but it was pain-free" I was thinking, okay, how is THAT possible!? She told me all about her experience with hypno-birthing. I guess you take some classes learning how to have a baby naturally with no drugs and it is pain-free. You learn how to put yourself into a deep hypnosis so that you feel no pain but are fully aware of what is going on. I thought it sounded pretty cool and maybe some day I would like to give it a try. The draw-backs are that it is VERY time consuming for a couple months because there is a lot of meditation/learning time devoted to it before the delivery. Plus, it cost like $500 for the class (I think) Anyways, I just thought I'd let people know about it since I know lots of pregnant people and they may want to consider this if an epidural doesn't sound pleasing to them (although I am 100% for epidurals... it is TOTALLY my thing ;))

Emma's SURPRISE!

Fransisco- Emily's boyfriend had a surprise party for her last night. We ate hot-dogs, listened to spanish music (Fransisco is from Ecuador) and had fun..

Emma got a 'Matilda' cake from Costco, it was SUPER yummy! If you've ever scene Matilda you would know why I call it that!
They made Emma take a bite from the cake, I'm not sure what kind of a tradition this is, but of course they tried to push her head into the cake make a messy face for Emma... Poor Emmy ;)

Happy Birhday Grams!

Today is my mom's Birthday. I have no idea how old she is to be honest... To my defense, I didn't even know how old I was until Emily reminded me. So, Happy Birthday Ma, hope it's a good day!
Here are some pictures of Liv's FAVORITE thing to do... draw! She drew this one from Grammy ;)

For Natalie

This is Hannah- our neighbor. Isn't she cute!? We went over for lunch today so Liv and Hannah could play, and Natalie and I could talk. We love our neighbors- they are some of our best friends!

Ambulance

Earlier this evening we went to our neighbors house to drop off some 'get well' fruit. They've been sick. On my way back to the house I was holding Olivia on my hip. It has been non-stop ice and snow ALL winter. Sadly, on our short walk home I slipped on the ice throwing Olivia onto her head on the concrete/ice. It made a loud crack noise. Unfortunately, I instinctively put out my hands to catch MYSELF and not Olivia's head. Olivia lied on the ground in shock and I finally got up and took her home. She screamed and went CRAZY. She was not calming down no matter what I did. I was scared, so I called the Dr's office. They told me to take her to the emergency room. I didn't know if we could afford the emergency room or if it was necessary, so I decided to call 9-1-1 to ask if this was serious. The lady at 9-1-1 sent an ambulance telling me this WAS serious, and I did the right thing calling. So, a police officer and an ambulance came rushing to our house. I'm not gonna lie- it was some what embarrassing since I didn't think Olivia was really hurt that bad, I just don't know much about concussions and such. Anyway, Olivia is OKAY and her head seems fine. Hopefully it didn't do more damage then meets the eye. We had all the neighbors calling and coming over asking if we were okay (I'm telling you, we have the worlds BEST neighbors) We even got dinner from one. Wow, what more could I ask for?! I have felt sick about it all pretty much all night. It was just SOO scary and gave me major anxiety to have an ambulance coming to our house. I have officially decided I have bad luck. After cancelled flights, lost baggage and now head injuries, I am not sure how much more I can take. I really do want to make more positive HAPPY blogs. I promise I'm not trying to be pessimistic. I am just having bad luck!
p.s. I've learned my lesson about calling 9-1-1. Only call if you want help sent to your house immediately. (I think it may be standard to always send help as soon as you get on the phone with them) Theres no question asking ;) I think they should have a 9-1-1 question line, that way they could tell you if it really was an emergency or not!

Nursery

So, officially Olivia shouldn't go into nursery until NEXT week, but Brett saw her name on the door and on the roll, so he thought she should go in if they would let her. Let me tell you, we are SOOOO happy Liv won't be with us in classes anymore. She is just TOO active to be with us! My mom is convinced we were never that crazy and active as kids... Olivia is definately a BUSY girl! So, Brett stayed the first hour of nursery, and I stayed the 2nd. Olivia LOVED it! She stole some snacks from the other kids (which they were NOT happy about) but really she was pretty nice to the other kids. I was happy about that since she's had a history of bossin other kids around.. She absolutely LOVED singing time. She danced for everyone and clapped after each song and said "yea!" She didn't care much for the coloring, and decided it was funner to eat the crayons rather then color with them. I think she will do fine with neither Brett or I in nursery with her, but this was a good test-run. Every child needs to go 1 week early for a test-run, right ;) hehe Oh, and at the end they blew bubbles and Olivia had a blast catching bubbles. All day she has been saying "bubbles, bubbles, bubbles" so I got out the bubbles at home for her. I think it may be a new favorite activity.
