Livies spare time

She's a climber...

loves to chat on the phone

mommy likes to play with stickers ;)

And... just for fun... I found this on a Twighlight webpage and I thought it was really funny.. I know, it's cheesy and silly but I laughed for awhile. If any of you don't get it.. it's probably because you haven't read all three of the books, or you don't know Timberlake's latest hit "bringing sexy back"

Happy Birthday Lindsay!

Kim-Sarah-Lindsay
*wow, we're such hotties!! j/k*
Well, it is Lindsay's Birthday today... I am a bad friend and didn't send anything, so I thought I would write a tribute to her!! She is a wonderful friend... Kim, Lindsay, and I have been best friends growing up (well since 6th grade) and we are still best friends today! I feel so blessed to have them in my life even when I wasn't always the way a best friend should be ;) Anyway.. Lindsay has always been SO fun to play with! She can make me laugh and brings out a goofiness in me that no one else ever could. I don't think we would have so many hilarious inside jokes it weren't for Lindsay! (feel the rythem feel the rhyme get on up it's bobsled time! RRRR! ... Beep leave a message! ... Nice chips!! ... BnB Restaurant ... Theres too many to even think!) I had to throw those in there for Linds and Kim, even though most of you will say WHAAAT!? So, back to Lindsay. She is beautiful, she is optomistic, she's easy to talk to (theres not much we couldn't talk about) and all in all I just Love her!! Happy Birthday Linds!!!

Liv has been smiling JUST LIKE Brett lately. I wish I could find some child-hood pictures of Brett, because they look like twins! Brett always had one eye swuinty, and those cute chubby cheeks. I LOVE her new smile!

1 Year Appointment

Height: 29.5 inches (75th percentile)
Weight: 20 lbs (35th percentile)
Liv had her 1 year appointment today. She got some trial meds... She throws up ALL the time, and I am sick of it. So, the doctor gave us some stuff to try. I just hate having her, me, and the carpet smelling like puke. It just shouldn't happen any more!

8 random and crazy facts

So, I've been asked by a few different people to write 8 random facts about me people may not know... So, FINALLy I will do it!

1. I always think theres bugs crawling on me.. ESPECIALLY if I've been outside for more then 5 minutes

2. The bugs comment leads me to #2- I LOOOVE to be clean. I can't stand to not shower for more then a day. If I could, I would shower twice a day... but I don't want to have wet hair at night, and a shower isn't complete without clean hair.

3.I read blogs of people I don't even know... frequently. I would add them to my links, but I don't know them and if they came across it I'm sure they'd be freaked out!

4.I pretty much ALWAYS have a runny nose. All year round. I sniffle all the time and when Brett and I were dating it drove him NUTS! He tried to make me stop by telling me every time he caught me sniffling I would have to eat a Harry Potter Jelly Bean. It scared me that I could get throw-up flavor, and eventually I ended up crying because I didn't want to eat another jelly bean, so Brett stopped!

5. I very much LOVED my pregnant belly. I thougt it was beautiful, and so fun to feel Liv inside of me..

6.I realized the other day I ALWAYS put my left contact in first, and my left shoe on first. I couldn't make myself do it the other way around, it just feels awkward.

7.I am VERY scared of the dark. I have to have night lights, and if I can't get to light fast enough I cry. (I know, it's pathetic)

8.I am quite paranoid someone is going to "get" me. I am always looking behind me to make sure no one is there, always locking doors, and I RUN if I think someone looks fishy...You never know! I might look weird running through the parking lot at Wal-Mart, but atleast I won't be the one dead somewhere.. aaah, that's SICK!

Okay, that's that. It took me awhile to think of them, but oh-well! I will tag Ma, Alisha, Nettie, Kristen, Dawn, Sherri, Val, and Britta. I think everyone else has been tagged at some point..

Getting into Trouble

Livie can be such a trouble maker! She is so into climbing up and getting into EVERYTHING! She tugs on our indoor plants, climbs up and into the coffee table thing in the living room, climbs into her toy basket! Anything she can climb on... she will! It's funny, but sometimes dangerously scary!

Anniversary

Our wedding day

Christmas...

dating days...eating corn!

Halloween

Our Honeymoon in Hawaii

Well, yesterday was our 2 year anniversary. Can you believe it's only been 2 years!? I thought it was atleast 3! With Olivia turning one this month too.. it just doesn't seem right! Anyway- it's been a GREAT 2 yaers! I can honestly and thankfully say it's not hard being married, in fact I LOOOVE it. I've heard a lot of people tell me the first years can be terrible, because you learn lots of new things about them that make you crazy. I love Brett more now then ever, and I'm sure our love will just keep growing! Brett is the best husband anyone could ever ask for. He's so sweet, never gets too upset with me, and is always making me smile. He is a wonderful father- he loves Olivia so much, and I can tell when he plays with her. He's amazing, and I am SO thankful that two years ago we were married for time and eternity! It has been a blessing beyond what I could ever think to ask! I love you Brettsker!

No more SODA!

Mini Sarah drinking a soda! Liv and I look like twins!

Okay- so, usually I don't blog about things I am thinking about or anything really except Olivia... but I have decided to blog about soda because a lot of people I love drink it regularly, and I think they should STOP!!! Don't be mad at me, I DO drink soda sometimes, but after looking up info on it, I think I may stop drinking it all together! From now on it's juice, milk, and water! Here are some of the crazy facts I found within like 2 minutes of researching it:

People who drink 3 or more sugary sodas daily have 62% more dental decay, fillings and tooth loss!

(HealthDay News) -- Drinking more than one soda a day -- even if it's the sugar-free diet kind -- is associated with an increased incidence of metabolic syndrome, a cluster of risk factors linked to the development of diabetes and cardiovascular disease, a study finds.

pH of Soda = pH of Vinegar
Acid oxidizes whatever it comes in contact with. If you put soda or vinegar on metal, it will rust it quickly.

Drink Soda, Leach Calcium
If you drink soda, which also contains high levels of phosphorous, you will leach calcium from your bones.

Soda Will Dissolve your Tooth Enamel
Weak bones is just the beginning. According to Dr. James Howenstein. author of A Physician’s Guide to Natural Health Products That Work, the high sugar content of soda is awful. He states, “”In an interesting experiment the sugar from one soft drink was able to damage the white blood cells’ ability to ingest and kill bacteria for seven hours.” Dr. Marion Nestle from his book Food Politics states, “Sugar and acid in soft drinks so easily dissolve tooth enamel.”

Each Additional Soda Increases Risk for Obesity by 1.6 times
Dr. Nestle also concluded, “The relationship between soft drink consumption and body weight is so strong that researchers calculate that for each additional soda consumed, the risk of obesity increases 1.6 times.”

Children Who Drink Soda Break Bones More Easily
Our children aren’t safe, either. Dr. Nestle states, “Adolescents who consume soft drinks display a risk of bone fractures three to four-fold higher than those who do not.”

Diet Soda Isn’t Any Better
For those of you with a diet soda in your hands, the news isn’t any better, in fact it’s worse! Carol Simontacchi from her book The Crazy Makers: How the Food Industry Is Destroying Our Brains and Harming Our Children states, “One liter of an aspartame-sweetened beverage can produce about fifty-six milligrams of methanol. When several of these beverages are consumed in a short period of time (one day, perhaps), as much as two hundred fifty milligrams of methanol are dumped into the bloodstream, or thirty-two times the EPA limit.” So, you’re poisoning your body, too. With diet soda, you’ve gone from high calories to poisonous levels of methanal and an increased chance of developing cancer. Not a very good trade.

Could Caffeine Jeopardize the Human Race?
Then there’s the caffeine. Jean Carper from her book Food: Your Miracle Medicine : How Food Can Prevent and Cure over 100 Symptoms and Problems states, “tests at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine by Roland R. Griffiths, MD, show caffeine withdrawal can strike people who drink a single cup of strongly brewed coffee or drink caffeinated soft drinks everyday. Further, Dr. Griffiths discovered that caffeine-withdrawal symptoms include not only headache, but also fatigue, mild depression, muscle pain and stiffness, flu-like feelings, nausea and vomiting. And for women: “Those consuming at least one cup of a caffeine-containing beverage per day, such as coffee, tea or soft drinks, were more prone to PMS. And the more caffeine they consumed, the more severe their PMS symptoms.”

If All That Wasn’t Enough Watch Out for a Asthma and a Rash
And finally there’s the preservative used in soda. Some reported reactions to sodium benzoate include recurring urticaria (rash), asthma, and eczema.”

Sodium benzoate, a preservative used in large quantities in soft drinks like Sprite, Dr. Pepper and Oasis, may cause severe damage to DNA and increase your risk of related diseases like Parkinson's while accelerating the aging process.Sodium benzoate appears to damage the “power station” of cells, known as the mitochondria, according to a British aging expert at Sheffield University.

Anyone want a soda now!?

Baby Gate

Olivia was pretty sad when she first discovered we put up a baby gate. No more climbing stairs for Liv! It was a PAIN to put up that gate. Brett got pretty upset... We had a huge whole in the wall (but I fixed it) It was no fun, but it's up! YEA!

Cutie

I loved how she had her little hand under her chin while she slept. Aah, so cute!
