1 Year Appointment

Height: 29.5 inches (75th percentile)
Weight: 20 lbs (35th percentile)
Liv had her 1 year appointment today. She got some trial meds... She throws up ALL the time, and I am sick of it. So, the doctor gave us some stuff to try. I just hate having her, me, and the carpet smelling like puke. It just shouldn't happen any more!

Did the doctor say WHY she might be throwing up or did he just automatically throw meds at you? Ok, not throw, but I hope he contemplated what might be causing it...

She looks like a Knerr baby ('slender')!

well, he actually didn't want to give me the meds... but I wanted them. He said it was nothing to wrorry about (and that's about it)

Does she have reflux or something? Lucy threw up ALL OF THE TIME for a long time, too. There's nothing better than smelling like a giant wad of puke, I know that feeling. With mostly babies/toddlers at my daycare, I feel like I don't have my own scent anymore. Ode de baby ralph.

Yep we all know about Lucy's reflux and the puke perfume. You know Kyla also had reflux and she finally grew out of it after her first birthday sometime. Poor lamb....she used to walk around smiling and hurling at the same time. Thank goodness it really did go away.

Here's a thought... what if she has Grandma Karen's allergy to dairy. It's possible isn't it? Have you given Liv anything with dairy in it?

FORMULA! ;) (I really think it's possible, Trace, especially since Sarah admitted to 'sniffing' all the time...)

Sorry Sarah, Nojah was a barfer too! Good luck. What did he give you?

Instead of giving her milk you might try some soy formula for awhile just to see if some of her symptoms go away. I'd use formula instead of soy milk so she gets the calcium she needs (I imagine that they fortify it...)

I agree with your mom. Try soy formula. Soy milk itself does not have everything Livie needs. I would not say that Livie has a bad problem with spit up but...you can also try the formula that has rice cereal in it. My friend used that with her babe and he is doing much better. I find out what it is called.
