HOPpy Halloween!

Tummy Time

Well, I was inspired to try tummy time on the boppy like Alisha does with Jillian- usually she just lies on my chest... Olivia is not too fond of tummy time. She squeels and looks at me like "umm, get me out of here! What are you making me do!?" So, we don't do it too often. She's holding her head up pretty good these days- the only time she gets upset to hold it up is when she's really tired. It's much easier to have her holding her head up though. She's a growing strong girl!

So,we haven't been up to much lately. It turns out Brett didn't have food poisoning since I got it a few days ago too! It must've been the stomache flu... I'm just getting over it, thankfully it didn't last too long. I HATE throwing up- I can honestly say to me it's as bad as labor (I can compare equally since I threw up while I was in labor) I'm SOOO happy I didn't have the moring sickness like other people do. I had it so good... Lucky lucky me! Our neighbors brought over dinner last night when they heard we were sick- so nice of them. We have some of the best neighbors around. Emily, my sister has been going on lots of dates and seems to be having lots of fun. So, Olivia will no longer be a bumblebee. Her costume came and won't fit her until next year, or maybe the year after that... So, now we don't have time to order another one so I am making a costume for her. She will now be a bunny! Goodness.. I still haven't thought of what I'll be. Costuming is lots of work!

We're Home Again!

Well, we made it home. The plane ride went well again, but the car ride home is another story... So, Brett bought a new car on Saturday while I was in Oregon (yes, he had my permission) I wasn't too sure about it, but Brett was so he did it! We got a Honda CRV- it's a smal SUV that gets pretty good gas milage. So, anyways, Brett was excited to get to drive it to Salt Lake to pick us up. Unfortunately he made a bad decision at luch and got food poisoning! So, he was VERY sick when he got to the airport. He was too sick to drive and felt like he might vomit again, so I was going off the first exit to get to a bathroom. Unfortunatley we did not make it. Brett puked as we were pulling into a 7-11. We did have a ripped up bag that was holding Olivia's car seat, but it was not all in-tact so the icky vomit leaked out all over the passenger seat. There goes that "new car" smell. Meanwhile, I forgot to mention Olivia was screaming in the backseat because she was hungry (I'm not sure why since she had eaten twice on the plane! that little stinker!) So, after cleaning up and feeding Livie we were back on the road. I thought we would make it home fine after that... but I guess fate took another course. Brett was feeling really sick again as we got into Spanish Fork. Olivia decided she was starving again at about that time too. She eats like a cow!- ALL day long! So, again, Brett was moaning and Olivia was crying as I tried to hurry home, but not speed (you just can't speed in a new car for fear you'll get in a wreck the first time driving it) Luckily this time Brett made it inside and Olivia ofcourse made it too- she kinda had to. So, all in all, we made it safely and we are home! Brett stayed home sick yesterday- it was awful. Non-stop explosions... Poor boy. He's back at work though today and feeling lots better, but still not 100%. So, that's it for now!

We made it!

Well, we made it to Oregon safely and without crying. Olivia was so good on the plane, she didn't even make a peep. She got to see Jeff, and her Great Great Aunt Marie (my Dad's mom's sister). They loved to get to see her. So far we are having fun in Oregon. We've went out to eat to my favorite Chinese restaraunt and visited some of Grammy's co-workers. (She slept the whole time-top picture) I guess mom's co-workers are kinda boring ;) Well, thats all for now, we'll keep putting up pics of our fun trip!

New Room

Emma's new basement bedroom is DONE! And it's already "a muss" as Morgan would say ;) It looks good.. My Dad did a great job and we appreciate all his hard work SO much. Thanks Dad, you're great, I can't wait to give you a big hug tomorrow! Emma likes having her own basement (I think.) Last night was her first night, so we'll have to checkup on her to see how it was. For now, I best be going to tell her to CLEAN up!

Uncle Jeff

Tomorrow Olivia meets her Uncle Jeff for the first time (no, not Jeff Taylor or Jeff Peterson who are also Olivia's uncles, it's Jeff Knerr!) Too many Uncle Jeff's. Jeff just grauated from the Air Force training. He's moving to Arizona soon and seems pretty excited about it. We're excited to see him tomorrow!

OUCH!

Well, she got her shots. It was bad, the poor girl scrrreamed and cried like I have never heard before. It was just so sad because she was smiling away and so happy, until the shots! It took her awhile to calm down, and when I thought she was calm then she would let out another loud squeel and start crying again. It just broke my heart, I don't want to do it again in 2 months!
Update- she is 11 pounds 6 oz. 23 inches long and I think she said 15" head.

My Bumblebee

Well, it turns out Olivia will be a bumble bee for Halloween because I won a bid on e-bay for a total of $7.00 (including shipping) it was the cheapest option. Hopefully it fits... we'll have to sew and fix it if it doesn't. WEll, an update on the sleeping- Olivia is doing really well. She's sleeps pretty much every night for about 6 or 7 hours. Theres been a few off nights, but they are usually pretty good. It is SO much nicer this way. I didn't mind the every 2-3 hour wakings for the first little while, but then it got pretty annoying, so I am SOOO happy she's sleeping longer!
Update- the "Kristin recipe" dish I made (in the last blog entry) turned out well. Brett LOVED it, and I thought it was pretty good. I'm not too into peppers, but I put them in anyway and I'm not sure I should have... But atleast Brett loved it! The recipe was a good one though, thanks Kristin!
So, anywho, tomorrow Olivia gets her first dose of shots! I am NOT excited. I hate to see her cry and scream from someone poking her. It's not going to be fun, but I suppose it's gotta be done for her benefit. I hope it's not to bad. Shots aren't TOO bad, it's just a pinch! (right? that's what I gotta tell myself so it doesn't scare me)

Cook'n' baby

Olivia's laundry first, and now dinner!? The truth... mommy just can't sand to be too far from Livie, or is it that Livie can't stand to be away from mommy?

I was making the baked penne and vegetable dish that Kristin posted awhile ago... it's not done yet, we'll see how it turns out! (so far it looks DELICIOUS!)

Summer Fun

Well, I am remembering things from last summer... when I didn't have video on my blog, so i am adding them now. The first vidoe is inside the hallway of our hotel in Las Vegas. We went there last June for a Hair Convention (well, that's what I went to) Brett and Amy went and played in Vegas while I shopped for hair stuff. It was a fun time, but our hotel was a bit creepy... The hallways were the most lit place in the whole hotel, the rooms and the lobby were SOO dark. All the walls were black, and there was artwork EVERYwhere. Which was fun, but half of them were of nude women (which didn't help my self image when I was 8 months pregnant and feeling pretty fat!) Anywho...

The second video is of Sam (Olivia's cousin) they came to visit last July. Theres actually a blog about it, but I didn't have video. He's SO cute! We had lots of fun making him smile!

Doing the Laundry

I had to take down the laundry.. and Olivia, so she came down as laundry too! Anyways, well, for anyone who may want to know (people who live in Oregon) I'm coming home! Olivia and I will be visiting October 19th-through the 24th. I would love to see everyone! So, make sure you give us a call if I don't call you first! My mother couldn't stand to be away from Livie for too long.. so she bought us plane tickets home! It's VERY exciting! I haven't been back since I was married! We can't wait!

A little upset

Olivia was being so funny yesterday. She was hungry, but I was trying to get her dressed for the day. She was NOT happy about that. She was screaming so I let her rest from dressing for a minute... the picture is the look she gave me. I thought it was so funny. Oh, her looks are so funny sometimes. She's been smilig a lot more too, but when I get the camera out she just stares at it instead of smiling at me!

2 IN A ROW!!!

Olivia has slept for 6 hours straight for 2 nights now. YIPEEEEE! I can only hope it continues! I have been trying to train her for a couple of weeks now, and it seems that she is learning! It feels SO good to sleep for 6 hours straight. I love it. Now... she needs 8 or 9 hours in a row. We'll wait until she's got the 6 down for sure though!

Well, Brett showed me a new trick he fiured out with Olivia.. If he strokes her cheek she somewhat smiles.. it's kinda funny. I went a little crazy with the video- adding music, changing things... it was fun.

Okay, so I'm a bad mom... I let Olivia lick my popsickle every now and then because it's so entertaining to watch her. She doesn't get much, so I don't think it harms her. I probably shouldn't though! But.. for your entertainment too, I filmed it for ya! Watch her little tounge lick.. haha! Boy she's got a long tounge! (sorry I'm a bad filmer)
