We finally did it! We have lights on our house! And they actually look good! We have had bad bad luck when it comes to lights. I mean this is our 6th Christmas together and we have finally done it right. We hired a professional!!
Every year we have tried to get lights up and every year we have failed. Our first year (pictured below) we accidentally purchased indoor lights and they looked terrible. I think we put them up again the 2nd year anyway. The 3rd year we purchased outdoor lights but the were "cool"white and they made our house look like a creepy halloween house. They were also not very straight and we had lights in places they shouldn't be. We couldn't figure out how in the world you put lights in only the spots you wanted them. Then last year we tried again, but we just couldn't find lights ANYWHERE like what we wanted. So this year- we hired a professional. Now we have a set of lights that will fit our house perfectly every year. And they are pretty colors. ;)

Sorry I wasn't much help in getting those darn lights to light up. They look great now though.
That's really funny. Is that last house the SAME house? You're right. They look a LOT better now. We have to get new ones because the color is fading off of ours--they're old.

Uh yeah. It looked pretty sad. There is a HUGE difference in the photos. I thought your lights looked beautiful when we were there. Now you just get to remember to turn them on and off. :)
did you know jeff did that in reno (professional light hanging)? anyway, so i got lucky and we have the nice ones too. the problem now is that you have to remember where the lines go next year.
Seriously? I had no idea there were professional Christmas light hangers. Wow! They look great though. So do you have to have them come and put them up every year?
I know Dawn- I thought the idea was ridiculous too. Really though- it makes all the difference because the can make the light strands exactly the right length for each part of the house.
We won't have them put them up again- we just wanted the set of lights that fits our house. Brett can do it in years to come!

hahah that is funny about the lights- the pro ones look awesome! beauitful! I hope mike wants to do it when we have a house. Your blue wall is so pretty! I love it- and your tree is beautiful too- love hwo big and tall it is- and I love the pics of claire with your socks- so cute
