Oh- and before I forget- I'm trying out clothe diapers. As you can see I do not know how to fold them and get them on good. Also- are you supposed to put plastic panties over the top? I am clueless when it comes to this. ANY and all advice on how to use them would be helpful!

What a TALL beautiful girl! Are you using cloth diapers?
she looks so big.... You are brave!
Cuuuuuuuutie Pie. Here's one link I found for folding diapers. Just use the internet and find directions. :) http://www.thediaperhyena.com/diaper_folding101.htm And, definitely use diaper pins--the ones especially made for diapers--they're bigger. If you use smaller ones they might come un-done and poke her! Ow. I don't know what they have for plastic pants these days. I suspect there are things that can go over the diaper so you don't even have to use pins? Good luck. Washing them is even more fun. Don't wash them with your other whites--your whites will smell like diaper. Trust me. I know. Use HOT water and you may have to double-rinse to get the soap out. May... Have fun. :)
you don't need pins if you get the diaper wraps. They hold the diaper snugged in. I tried cloth diapers w/my first born and it was not fun. However, i hear it's easier now w/cloth diaper service. You dont have to rinse them out or do anything. you just put them in the diaper pail and set them out for pick up & delivery.
Oh..and you can still buy the plastic diaper pants if you choose to use diaper pins. The plastic diaper pants are made by Gerber. Target carries them!
HOLY CUTENESS!!!! She's getting cuter and cuter every day!!! About the cloth diaper thing: go Sarah! I'm too lazy, to be honest, but one of my daycare kids is in them and has been since he was about 4 months old. His mom bought a bunch of these fancier ones like the ones at this site: http://www.fuzzibunz.com/
I don't remember the name of the type she bought, but they're really cute and super-easy to use. You can find them on Etsy, too, some women make their own and sell them. Some are more expensive than others. But my friend's website is linked to mine--it's Kaylen, Doug and DG, and she has a bunch of other links to blogs that are all about cloth-diapering!!! :) Sorry about the mouthful, just thought I'd let you know!
I think I ordered some of the fuzzibunz ones. I will let you know when tob gets home if I still have them. The gerber plastic pants don't hold up real well and carry a stinky smell to them but not a bad idea to just have a few around.
Claire is so cute She's smiling all the time!and laughing--what a joy with 2 happy kids! I can show you how to fold diapers- the old school way tomorrow.
--Looks like you are doing real good with the c loth diapers. Diaper pins have safety tops on the pins and they're the only way to go.YOu have to put on the plastic pants or sometimes you will have 'mess' all over! (Of course, you're probably better at it than I was.)
I have a friend who is totally dedicated to cloth diapers. She's tried several brands and really likes the Bum Genius brand. (http://www.bumgenius.com/) The cost to get into cloth diapers might be a little high initially, but long term you could probably save TONS of money. Plus with the more expensive cloth diapers you don't have to worry with the plastic liners or the pins.
Did you learn how to fold Claire's 'doppers?' I wish Olivia still talked like that... I looked at the other kind that Britta mentioned. Really nice but I think they're around $17 or $18 apiece! I suppose if you calculate how much you'll spend over the next two years and subsequent children it might be worth it, but I'd certainly want to know that I actually liked them! Do you want to try some? I can contribute to the cause...
Cloth diapers are awesome! I have been using them on Juliet since she was 2 weeks old. I started with the prefolds(rectangle ones that are thicker in the middle) with safety pins since she was small. Now I use "fitteds" which are in the shape of a diaper with elastic at the waist & legs to keep messes in(and they do really well). For covers I picked the cheapest I could find: Dappi nylon pants(pull-on kind) & they work great. The are $5 for two covers & come in 4 sizes, I had to buy them online at cottonbabies.com For the diapers I am using Motherease brand. I have only found them for sale online, but they are awesome diapers & have snap closures so you don't have to use pins. They are like $12 new but you can find them cheaper used(ie: people invest if a bunch of diapers & then decide not to do it) if you aren't opposed to such things. I found some barely used ones on craigslist for $2 each. I don't like the "all in one diapers" that you don't need a cover for because you aren't supposed to dry them in the dryer so they take forever to dry, & if you do dryer them they just wear out faster. Sorry this is so long, if you want to talk cloth diapers just email me(danspretty girl at gmail dot com) I can give you tons of info. I am a total fan of cloth diapers, it is way better and cheaper that disposables.
