Name'n' the Babe

Well- here they are... names we like so far...

Claire
Ava
Halle
I actually think I like 'Ava Claire' as a name... BUT I really want a middle name to be a family name, not just something we like. So- anyone know if there are any Claires in our family history!? How do I even look that type of thing up. I'm very into my family history as you can see...

I love Claire and I think it goes nicely with Olivia. What are some family names you might be able to use for a middle if Claire was the first name? For example grandmothers, mothers, sisters, aunts names and middle names. I'm going to love this little one even if you name her matilda!

Ooh. Matilda! Love it! Anymore, I'm not surprised what anyone names their children. All the old fashioned names are coming back. I love, love, love, love the name Claire and you know it Sarah. I'm reading a book right now and the woman's name is Eliana. Remember when we met our new neighbor? Her name was Eliana. I think it's pretty. Anyway, back to Claire. Did I say I love it? (I can't remember if it's one of Em's favs or not--you better grab it first heh heh). Hmmm family names...
Your dad's side: Helene, Lina, Margarete, Katie, Anna, Eva, Elisabeth, Marie, Rosaline, Irma, Lorna, Lois, Dorothea, Leonora, Darlene, Joann, Ardath, Rosemary, Corinne, Marilyn, Marlene, Hilda, Esther, Viola, Helena, Rosa, Mary, CLARA! Barbara, Wilhelmene, Henrietta, Dora, Irene... Well, Clara is close.

Oh, I like Ava, but I'm imagining you hollering "Olivia!" and/or "Ava!" -- It reminds me of when I call upstairs to one of my coworkers: "Sonia!" (pronounced Sahnia) and she AND Ronda answer because Sonia and Ronda sound much the same (Olivia/Ava) I guess it's the same emphasis on the end of the name. Just a thought that doesn't really matter now does it. I just think I'm attempting to have the longest comment ever! I'll spare you the family names from our side of the family. The ones from Dad's side are just on his mom's side...

Good luck with choosing a name. Dave and I always have such a hard time deciding girl names-boy names are easy for us for some reason. I really like the name claire. our camera is a canon powershot something or other. LOL. That was a real technical term, wasn't it? I knew I could change the aperture setting but it only has a range of 2.7 - 8. It doesn't seem to be a very distinct blur. Perhaps it's an operater error.... Any tips?

I think all your names are great but my vote is for Claire! It's a very classic name.

My great aunt's name was Elizabeth Claire Brown. I know you don't like Elizabeth but I think it's a really pretty name! Plus it's YOUR middle name. Other names from that side of the family are: Anna, Edith (no, please, not that one), Muriel, Gertrude (no not that either!), Caroline, Margaret (Maggie), Maria, Maria, Carrie, Sophia and Kate (Katie).

I meant "Marie." Not "Maria" twice. Oops.

I love AVA!!!!! Always been a favorite, but since I'll probably never have a girl... :) Claire is really cute, too, I like them together! Good luck choosing! Can't wait to see what this little chicky looks like--more of you this time around? Or another Olivia? This is the best part about having a baby--wondering what he/she will look like! ;)

I'm not one to give naming advice whereas my baby is coming in 5 weeks and we don't have a name but my vote goes to AVA I love it I love it I love it!

Well, since Claire is a family name I suppose Ava Claire works. :)It's very pretty. That wouldn't leave Claire as a first-name option for the NEXT girl though (ha ha Brett!). Maria is a family name. How about Ava Maria? (I AM SERIOUSLY JUST KIDDING!!!!!)

I really like all the names. You picked good ones. I love going with family names. sounds like your mom's listed most of them off, but you could have her send you some pedigree charts too. Your mom is too funny. I love her and I don't even know her!

PS I got my fabric today! Can't wait to see you on Tuesday. Bring your new address when you come.

ooh, you punk! Ava and Claire are too of my favorite names, so I vote for Halle. But Francisco doesn't like the name Claire, so I guess you can have that one, but seriously, I was totally planning on having one of my babies names Eva. So, I guess we could have Ava and Eva, but just for the record, if you do name her Ava, I'm so not copying you when I name my girl Eva! love you though and they are all super cute names!

So what is it? You've gotten advice on all these names. What are y'all 'name'n' the babe? Also, a new picture of that sweet little creature with the blonde hair would be nice. Have you found your camera that does video? I'll bet you could borrow Gma Pete's. I know they have one. A video of Livie talking to someone would be really fun for this grandma!

All the comments are so funny! So, all those names are beautiful....you really can't go wrong, now if you had Gretchen, Myrtle, or Olga, I might object.
I actually had 2 great grandma Myrtles.....tehe.

I just read all the new comments since I commented and think it should be Claire Elizabeth. I didn't know Elizabeth was your middle name and it would be a family name. There you go.

I like Halle, it's cute. It will be really close to what we are naming our baby. We are naming her Haylee, just don't have a middle name picked out yet.
